Thanks to an agreement with Avis, a car rental company that provides vehicles without drivers, the resort
is able to offer visitors all-terrain vehicles of the Jeep Wrangler variety for the purpose of excursions
in magnificent natural locations that would otherwise be difficult to reach. VALLNORD Mountain Park has
designed three interconnecting routes that set out from the resort’s service centre and which cross the
Andorran mountains, stretching as far as the Catalan Pyrenees. The routes are suitable for all drivers
(please see general contracting conditions) and follow mountain tracks that offer little in the way of
difficulties. Linking Andorra with the Catalan district of Pallars, they provide a closer view of the
marvellous scenery and cultural and artistic elements that the areas along the way have to offer.
Additionally, these routes allow for the experience of driving an all-terrain vehicle of the type in question.
Every aspect of this activity is an emotional treat; it is unlikely that driving a normal car could generate the same feelings.
A road book is provided for these excursions, as is the case where popular major adventure trials and rallies
are concerned, adding extra spice to the activity. Trips last from half a day to a full day and can be combined
with other outdoor activities, such as descending the Noguera Pallaresa in a raft and/or tucking into a hearty
snack in a genuine mountain restaurant, where barbecued Andorran meat is just one of the regional specialities on the menu.
The points of interest encompassed by the routes include Tavascán, Ribera de Cardós, Alins de Vallferrera, Llavorsí,
Os de Civis and Tor. Newly-designed by VALLNORDMountain Park’s activities team, the resort’s 4x4 routes are an
excellent option for families or friends who want to get to know extraordinary and little-known parts of the Pyrenees.
All in all, this is a very different way of discovering Andorra and its surroundings.
